Milena Stott founded Principle Allies in 2019 with the goal of bringing driven consultants together who want to use their talent to tackle tough social problems. After working as a clinician and later leader, she observed all the things that must come together to ensure good health outcomes. She wanted to use her passion for community organizing and skill set in administration to scale potential beyond one organization.

With a passion for social work and an interest in business practices, she sought education and training in the business world and became certified as an Executive Leader in Social Impact. Soon after she partnered with business colleagues to develop a portfolio of clients leading her to start her own practice. That’s how she met Anne, Tasha, and Elizabeth. With their shared interests, they were off to a running start.

Nonprofit work is hard. In the social sciences field, our work is not driven by profit. As such, education is centered around the concepts we need to work with people. Put simply, the skills of an MSW clinician are different from those with an MBA. Yet, as organizations, nonprofits compete in the same market as for-profits. Aligning public and private interests can be a challenge.

We team up as consultants with complementary experience – Tasha in business, Elizabeth in health care and Anne in nursing. As four female leaders fiercely driven by social mission, Milena’s daughter nicknamed us “Mighty Girls” so sometimes you’ll hear us use that as well!
